PRAYER

“God desires to glorify His name by answering prayer” – E. M. Bounds

BCC seeks to be a praying church in order to be a church at all.  We aim to develop our heart for prayer and encourage an ethos of prayerfulness among our community.  We want to encourage all individuals to pray unceasingly (Acts 2:42, 2 Thes. 5:17), but we also see the great importance of corporate prayer (Acts 1:14, Matt. 18:19-20).

Each Sunday morning, there are prayers of intercession for our world, our nation and our church.

In addition, usually on the second Thursday, we take a week out from our usual bible studies to host a Monthly Prayer Meeting in Mandala. All the groups meet together for food from 6.15 – 6.45 pm and pray from 6.45 – 7.30 pm. Lifts and childcare are available. Those who are able are welcome to stay on for a time of extended fellowship over tea and coffee.

At this meeting, we focus on the mission of BCC by: praying for the leadership; the congregation (specific needs etc.); the different ministries of the church; and our wider partnerships (e.g. the rural churches, our church partners in South Africa, and like-minded ministries around Blantyre).
